Anthony Gonzalez gone from the roster

Anthony Gonzalez, 25, might just be removed from the Colts roster by a simple cut. In 2008, it appeared that Gonzalez would become the #2 receiver for the Colts, as Reggie Wayne moved into Marvin Harrison’s #1 spot.

Well, that didn’t happen as Gonzalez, who posted good numbers in 2008, 57-664-4scores, went down with a knee injury prior to the season and some rookies stepped up. Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark both hauled in more than 100 receptions from Peyton Manning over the course of the 2009 season but the youngsters, Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie both filled Gonzalez’s absence and collected a combined 107 receptions and 11 touchdowns.

Those numbers might just make Gonzalez expendable.
