Manning, I’d quit football if I couldn’t play for the Colts
Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning is set to become even wealthier in the coming months, perhaps becoming the highest paid quarterback in NFL history. The Colts could be setting themselves up for long term disaster though as Manning is one of 19 Indianapolis players who will be without a contract after the 2010 season.

The Indystar.com reports that several key players will not be able to return to the Colts as the team simply won’t be able to afford them all. Players such as RB Joseph Addai, S Antoine Bethea, K Adam Vinatieri and DT Dan Muir are on the list of players who will see their contract expire after 2010.
Last week, Manning attended an event at South Grove Intermediate School and fielded questions from about 500 4th-6th graders. Manning attended the event because the school was the winner of the statewide Project 18 Challenge, a program which focuses on child nutrition, physical activity and holistic health.
Manning fielded a bevy of questions from the youngsters but gave a peculiar answer to one question, What team would you play for if you weren’t a Colt? “I really hadn’t thought about that. If I couldn’t play for the Colts, I would probably stop playing football”.
Colts release WR
The Indianapolis Colts have released WR Roy Hall. Hall has recorded 1 catch for 9 yards over the three seasons with the Colts. The former Ohio State player showed promise with a large frame, 6’3″ 240 pounds and good speed but was consistently injured.
The move comes as little surprise as the Colts are very deep at the receiver position, perhaps possessing the deepest squad in the league.
